Gut Question
Do you think there is any value in having testing done to learn about your own microbiome? Or are we back to the idea that it won’t actually change what we are doing to help to heal the gut so it doesn’t make as much sense to do it?
Hi Wendy! Thanks for your question!
The short answer is “no”. The science is relatively new and individual biomes would vary greatly both genetically and geographically, so our view would be, if you’re doing your best to eat as locally as possible, your gut should respond appropriately. The market is going to come up with all kinds of these opportunistic testing things which would be an added expense in addition to more rules to apply to your diet for probably minimal gain. The overall goal is to make this whole thing as simple as possible so that it doesn’t take over your life but allows you to get on with your life, whatever that might be.
